The Japan Diaries.

After a whirlwind 16 days of touring Japan with 10-kg backpacks (yes I have shoulder muscles now), the five of us-Felicia, Cathy, Colleen, Joyce and I- are back in Singapore, ready to settle down and find ourselves a job that will chain us for life.

But before that happens, I shall faithfully chronicle this 16 day journey through the most bizarre alien planet nearest to mankind- Japan. Hopefully this will help those who are planning to go over there soon, and also allow myself to indulge in some good ol' reminiscing about the topsy turvy 16 days filled with adventures and strange people and kind people.

I will start this entire log with a brief introduction of my travelmates.

Me- I was the big head/ transport minister of the trip. Read: 大头. However, my travelmates were too efficient in their tasks, so I mostly did nothing but panic. I like to think it's healthy "panicking" but even though I irritate them mostly, they still love me.

Felicia- The chief treasurer and the Osaka IC. She mostly look out for tasty snacks and her most frequent question is, "Oh I see ______ (Insert food name). You all want to eat?" when she has her cravings. But she still have a slim figure.

Cathy- Fashion consultant and Kyoto IC. Tried to penalise me when she found that I was wearing blacks socks high enough to cover the shortness of my leggings. She is nicknamed "Pink *******". (I'll die if I say it out.) and she makes us go to every Matsumoto Kiyoshi store (our equivalent of Watsons).

Colleen- 2nd in command and Hammamatsu IC. Takes a lot of pictures and buys a lot, a whole lot of things. By the end of the trip, her backpack grew taller than her.

Joyce- Has the heaviest task of navigating through the labyrinth-like subway lines of Tokyo as she is the Tokyo IC. But she did it well. Also known as Sleeping Beauty because she can sit on a train and sleep the whole way through. Without waking up at all.

Colleen's Iphone- What can I say? This baby was our makeshift laptops and our gates back to civilisation (and also destroys the illusion of vacations, but nevermind.)

Okay, that's all for now.

Please Vote!

Hi everyone,

I am still in Japan but I have this one video that I created which is in this contest and I really need you to help me vote for it! The topic is What Makes a Young Champion and here is my take on it.

The link is below.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r4ZzArME4jo

What better way to find out what makes a young champion than to get the answers from real life champions. Meet Felicia and Shi Hui, two young outstanding basketball players in Singapore and be inspired by their story and take in the fact of the matter. Winning is not an impossible task, but it is not easy either.

Vote here for me!!!

Murder by Backpacking.

I've just completed 5 days out of a 16 day Japan itinerary and my 10 kg backpack is killing me.

Haha.

I'm that old now.

But we'll persevere.

We had the cutest Sunday service ever in a quaint and cosy Japanese churchhouse, but i'll leave that story till when i come back home.

See you all soon!

Happy Mother's Day!

I'd like to make myself believe, that there are still people out there, willing to help anyone without asking for a cent back.

I'd also like to believe that, deep down inside, there will be kindness.

Therefore, let me make room for a mercy seat in my temple.

It feels good...

When the whole theatre laughed and clapped. And Evelyn gave me that thumbs up right at the end.

It tells me that our efforts, blood and sweat were for something.

Thank you, my FYP mates, for being my FYP mates. We may just be 3 people but we did it!We're Fat Tripod Films!

Thank you, my 5 supporters who came down to support me. I love your love! Haha.

And the other filmmakers whose films also have been shown today and will show tomorrow, we're really quite a cool bunch and I think this year, we've upped the standard quite a lot. Good job, all of you. I'm proud of us.

As Melissa would end it, "I hope we made you laugh."

I was duped by a big fat lump of lard.

My phone has ceased to exist after a careless dip into the washing machine for 40 minutes.

The only consolation is, at least it died clean.

I would need you to send me your names to my new, pirated handphone which my dad got from China. It's the same number. Thanks!
